Comeback with a declaration of love
Do you recognize this hit star?
He used to be a popular hit: Fan or not, everyone at a hit party at a certain alcohol level shouted “Damn, darn, darn”. Now the man with the friendship bracelets has settled down and is paying tribute to his marriage with his new single.
Many people know a man who looks at the camera with sunglasses in a completely different way…
Well, would you recognize him? Wolfgang “Wolle” Petry, 71, has made “Wahnsinn,” essentially the meanest catchy tune of the decade, a mega hit in the late 90s. With his long curly hair, lumberjack shirts and countless friendship bracelets around his right arm, Petry filled stadiums in his prime.
Then it got quieter for the Germans, Petry withdrew, he mainly made music with his son Achim (46). He tried things out: songs in English as well as somewhat rockier numbers added to his discography.
A romantic declaration of love for the 50th wedding anniversary
First of all, Wolfgang Petry traveled the world together with his wife Rosemarie Remling. In 2022, the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Reason enough for the pop singer to remember their love. Musical, of course.
With his new single “You belong to me and I belong to you” he sings about the years together. And for this great romantic gesture, Rosemarie does him a very special favor. For the first time, he dares to step into the limelight. The couple appeared together in front of the camera for the music video for the single.
“A touching moment in my life,” Wolfgang Petry tells RTL. And his wife adds: “It was actually quite funny, but also the only one. I feel much more comfortable in the background.” (crb)
