The Jugend Medienpreis HIV/Aids is an award for committed students and young people who have dealt with HIV/AIDS creatively – for example in their free time, at school, in a theater group, in a choir, as a student editor or as a youth group.
Media posts of all kinds are allowed and should motivate others to think about HIV positive people. And show what HIV means today. Whether as a video, a text, a game, a radio report or a piece of music…
The jury must be able to recognize that the applicants have thought about how people with HIV/AIDS live and what a good life could/should look like for them in our society. These ideas should be implemented as creatively or unusually as possible. So it is not enough to show what the HI virus is and how you can protect yourself.
Before submitting an entry to the Youth Media Award competition, it is important that the “work” is presented to others. For example, in a classroom, school, youth group. The application also includes information about when and who saw the post.
The jury is made up of media experts, AIDS experts and doctors.
A financial reward of 3,000 euros is prepared for the winning entry. The award ceremony will take place in March 2023 at the German-Austrian AIDS Congress in Bonn.
The recording must be made and shown to others in 2021 or 2022. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2023.
