Heavy snowfall is wreaking havoc in parts of New York State. The storm has already led to dozens of flight cancellations at Buffalo International Airport, as well as road closures and driving bans in the west of the state, CNN reported Saturday night. Two people died of heart problems while clearing snow in Erie County, County Clerk Mark Poloncarz said on Twitter. The National Weather Service reported that more than 6 feet of snow had fallen in the town of Orchard Park, south of Buffalo, by Friday evening (local time).
The population should refrain from traveling
The National Weather Service stated: “historical snowfall» for the region around the city of Buffalo. Officials say there is “near zero visibility” and travel is strongly advised against. Residents should be aware of damaged infrastructure.
