In Weilheim, Upper Bavaria, a 60-year-old man was first found dead in a garden. Police later found three more bodies. All four are related – the perpetrator is probably a fifty-nine-year-old man.
Investigated after the violent crime of four relatives in Weilheim near Munich the police about the background of the crime, which is still unclear. There were no new findings as of Saturday morning, a police spokesman said. Investigators believe a man killed two 57-year-old women and then a 60-year-old man on Friday afternoon. A fifty-nine-year-old man is said to have taken his own life. Both men had gunshot wounds, the cause of death of the women is still unclear.
A witness found the 60-year-old man still alive in the garden of the apartment building and called 911, police said. However, the immediately initiated resuscitation measures were unsuccessful – the man succumbed to his severe injuries on the spot. The ensuing extensive search by the police was initially unsuccessful.
Almost two and a half kilometers further and more than two hours later, a witness found a lifeless 59-year-old man on a park bench. When emergency services arrived, the alleged perpetrator was already dead, and officials found the two dead women with him. They caused them “massive injuries”.
Further investigation of the case is carried out by the Weilheim criminal police and the Munich II public prosecutor’s office. The city of Weilheim has around 23,000 inhabitants.
