Maura Healey is making US history.

American Democrat Maura Healey (51) was elected governor as the first woman in the country’s history to openly admit her homosexuality. According to American broadcasters in the state of Massachusetts, the 51-year-old man won the congressional and gubernatorial elections on Tuesday against Republican Geoff Diehl, 53.

Healey is the former Attorney General for Massachusetts. During the so-called midterms, the entire House of Representatives, a third of the Senate and the governors of 36 of the 50 US states were elected on Tuesday.
