Itten and Baltazar must watch 3 matches

Cedric Itten was suspended for 3 matches due to his attack in the match against Servette (0:0). The YB forward hit Geneva’s Nicolas Vouilloz in the face with his flat hand. Sions Baltazar also received 3 suspensions for assault. In a goalless draw against Basel, he caught opponent Dan Ndoye with his hand on his head.

Sorgic and Schürpf are injured

FCL’s two offensive players Dejan Sorgic and Pascal Schürpf were injured last Saturday against Winterthur and will be out for the rest of the first half of the season. According to an FCL press release, Sorgic has contracted bone marrow edema in his left knee and will not be able to return to team training until December. Due to a torn adductor, Schürpf had to substitute at halftime against the promoted team. He will now undergo a comprehensive recovery and will join the team in about four to six weeks.

Bachmann is no longer the coach at Lucerne

FC Luzern terminates cooperation with WSL head coach Urs Bachmann with immediate effect. The decision is based on his team’s recent poor performance. Lucerne are sixth in the table with nine points from eight games. In a media release, FCL announced that the team needed a new impetus in light of the goals it had set for the season. It is not yet known who will replace Bachmann on the sidelines.
