Franz after a training fall with fractures on both legs
Max Franz cannot participate in any races this winter. The 33-year-old speedster from Austria was seriously injured during training in Copper Mountain (USA). In the fall, Franz suffered an open tibia fracture in his left leg and a complicated tibia fracture in his right leg. He also suffered a cut on his right hand. Both legs have already been operated on. Franz has three World Cup wins, two downhill and one super-G. At the 2017 World Championships in St. Moritz, he finished third in the downhill won by Beat Feuz.
9 Swiss women travel to Levi
After the cancellation of Sölden, Zermatt/Cervinia and Lech/Zürs, the first races of the Women’s World Cup will be held next weekend. There are two slaloms on the program in Levi, Finland. Swiss-Ski nominated 9 athletes. In addition to team leaders Wendy Holdener, Michelle Gisin and Camille Rast, there are also Aline Danioth, Mélanie Meillard, Nicole Good, Elena Stoffel, Aline Höpli and Lorina Zelger.
