Russia is bombing Odessa and the Dnieper

Russian airstrikes on Ukrainian infrastructure continued on Thursday morning. According to the head of the joint press center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalie Gumenyuk, an explosion was heard in the metropolis of Odessa. “The air attack continues, a missile attack was carried out on Odessa,” she said on a Ukrainian television program.

Ukrainian media also reports on explosions in the city of Dnieper. According to Ukrainian information, the air defense system there was working. Air traffic alerts have been issued across the country since morning.

Russian forces have been attacking Ukrainian infrastructure since October 10. This happened two days after the explosion on the Crimean bridge, behind which, according to the Russian authorities, Ukrainian special forces are located. All over the country, from Kharkiv and Kyiv to Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, energy, defense industrial, military command and communication facilities are being shelled.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on November 1 that about 40 percent of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure had been damaged.
