The Latam airliner caught fire after the crash, and two firefighters in the van died, according to a statement from Jorge Chávez International Airport (local time) on Friday.

Latam confirmed the accident. All passengers on the flight, which was supposed to be heading to the southern Peruvian city of Juliaca, are doing well. The airport was initially closed. The causes of the accident will be investigated.

Officials from Lima Airport Partners announced on Twitter that they deeply regret the loss of the two firefighters. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
