Music production: Five heavyweights team up to form “Soundwide”.

Five heavyweights in the music industry have come together under the name “Soundwide”: Native Instruments, iZotope, Plugin Alliance, Brainworx and Sound Stacks. Native Instruments and iZotope had already joined forces last year.

As part of the merger, the companies announced free downloads. The following programs are expected to be available for free by April 26, 2022: Ethereal Earth from Native Instruments, Neutron Elements from iZotope, and a welcome package from Plugin Alliance and Brainworx with six plug-ins. As Soundwide explains on its website, the new band wants to work closely with a wide variety of musicians and seek their advice. Among them, singer Alicia Keys and composer Ludwig Göransson.

Soundwide’s businesses are well known in the music industry: Native Instruments develops software and hardware for music production, iZotope is known for professional audio software for recording, sound design and mastering. Plugin Alliance markets audio software online, Brainworx offers software emulations of analog hardware. Sound Stacks, on the other hand, was founded by Cesare Ferrari and Julian Storer, the latter having made a name for himself with the open source framework JUCE. Sound Stacks aims to develop new technologies for audio platforms to improve industry productivity and performance.
