On Wednesday evening, fights broke out in front of the Lucerny fan bar.

On Wednesday evening, a Superliga soccer match between FC Luzern and FC Basel took place in Lucerne, which FC Basel won 2-0. Since FC Basel fans did not submit a request for a fan march, according to Lucerne police, around 600 FC Basel supporters decided to walk individually from the train station to the stadium. Before the match, there were no incidents worth mentioning from the police’s point of view.

But there were riots after the match. Basel fans left the stadium individually. However, they formed a group in front of the Langensandbr├╝cke, leading to a clash between two groups of fans on the Bundesplatz outside Zone 5, the local area for Lucerne fans. Lucerne police then had to use coercive means to separate groups of fans. The situation calmed down after a while.
