  • Credit Suisse will close 14 of its 109 Swiss branches by the end of February.
  • The other two branches are converted into consulting offices.
  • It is not yet known which branch it concerns.

According to the ČS spokesperson, the reason for the closures is primarily the changed behavior of customers. Credit Suisse customers increasingly use online and mobile offers and no longer come to a branch.

As part of recently announced cost measures, the branch network would now be adjusted.

Ten days ago, Credit Suisse launched a major corporate restructuring. This will be accompanied by extensive job cuts. Accordingly, the bank wants to cut 9,000 of today’s 53,000 jobs. The bank plans to cut 2,700 jobs worldwide this year. About 20 percent of them in Switzerland.
