The game against Wolverhampton ended prematurely for Arsenal leader Granit Xhaka. The leader of the Swiss national team had to be replaced after only 15 minutes. At the post-match media conference, coach Mikel Arteta said Xhaka was not feeling well: “Some players had stomach problems.” Apparently the team ate something bad the day before the game.
Just two minutes after kick-off, the 30-year-old crouched on the pitch for the first time and asked for medical help. He tried to continue the game – no success. A little later it was over for him. Arteta replaced Xhaka with Fabio Vieira, who was newly signed in the summer. Xhaka disappeared into the catacombs.
The Swiss national team’s World Cup adventure begins on November 24 with a match against Cameroon (11am live on SRF).
Odegaard with a brace
At least in the next game on Saturday, the “Gunners” did not let themselves be disturbed. They also lived up to their role as favorites at the bottom of the table, winning 2-0 thanks to Martin Ödegaard’s move (55th and 75th). They are 5 points ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League.
