The Benn Neumair murder trial enters its final phase: On Thursday, prosecutors Federica Iovene and Igor Secco asked for a life sentence for the 31-year-old man from Bolzano, Italy, who is responsible for the double murder of his parents Laura Perselli and Peter Neumair and the disposal of their bodies in Adige.

In the process he had around 100 witnesses – including Defendant’s ex-girlfriend and Perselli’s childhood friend—just as numerous experts testified. Benno Neumair (31) is accused of killing his parents in cold blood on January 4, 2021. For weeks he tried to deceive the police with false information. Only when he felt cornered by the investigators did he confess to the crime.

According to the schedule, the court was supposed to withdraw to the meeting hall of the council next Saturday and read the verdict in the evening of the same day.
