Alpina XB7: Buchloe adapts the factory facelift

BMW has extensively revised the giant X7 SUV for the 2023 model year. At Alpina in Buchloe, the XB7 has been adapted to the new look.

Alpina only started with the XB7 in 2020, a good year after BMW brought the X7 to market. BMW has now given its X7 SUV top model a major facelift for the 2023 model year, which of course also has an impact on Buchloe’s XB7. The custom Alpina XB7 can be ordered now, but won’t be delivered to customers until December 2022.

Like the BMW SUV, the XB7 has the new front design with the split light and the illuminated grille as well as the new taillights at the rear. Alpina again adds its modified aprons to both ends of the vehicle. The well-known 21-inch Alpina Dynamic wheels with 285/45 tires sit in the wheel arches. Alpina offers 23-inch tires as an option with 285/35 tires on the front axle and 325/30 tires on the rear axle.

New base engine, same performance

In terms of the drive system, Alpina is moving to the latest development stage of the V8 (S68) with a cross-cylinder manifold, 48-volt on-board network and a BMW electric motor integrated into the automatic transmission in view of the throttle d more and more strict exhaust. global standards. However, this does not change the performance data of the 4.4-liter biturbo unit. It remains in the XB7 at 621bhp and 800Nm of torque, now available across a wider rev range. The 2.7 tonne SUV accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 290 km/h.

In the cockpit, the Alpina XB7 also benefits from the new curved screen and the latest generation i-Drive with the BMW OS8 operating system. The announcements are again specific to Alpina.

Alpina calls the base price of the XB7 170,500 euros. BMW’s base XB7 model, the X7 M60i xDrive costs from 127,200 euros. Since Alpina has only released one photo of the new XB7 so far, we show the facelift of the BMW X7 in the slideshow.
