After Real-Aus: This supermarket will soon move to the Brücken-Center – Ansbach

– After 24 years, Real said goodbye to the Ansbacher Brücken-Center – the area of around 10,000 square meters is currently empty. A new tenant has just been found.

Ansbach can look forward to a new supermarket in the Brücken-Center: After the closure of the Real branch as part of the takeover by a Russian investor, it is now clear who will take over the approximately 10,000 square meter area: the Food giant Rewe is moving into the popular mall. Conversion and expansion for this will begin soon.

“We are delighted to be able to win a real pole of attraction for the Brücken-Center in Rewe”, explains Andreas Schmid, Managing Director of the Brücken-Center. The name Rewe stands for a “quality and sustainable approach to food”, says Schmid. The Cologne-based company will open a full-range supermarket after the area is converted to the latest standards. Concretely, this means that customers must find everything they need on a daily basis in the branch – from groceries to household items to pharmacy items.

Wide aisles, many services

According to a press release, the new Rewe store will feature wide aisles, low shelves and many services. An opening date has not yet been set, but the expansion of the rental space should begin “soon”.

The closure of Real’s agency had left a big gap in the concept of the bridge center – and also caused a lot of confusion. Bridge center operator DV Immobilien Group said BR24 versus surprise at closing. The department store had only reopened two years earlier after investing millions. On October 1, 2021, it was over – after 24 years, Real disappeared from the shopping center on Residenzstrasse.
