In the US, people are fighting against masses of snow.

Winter has hit New York hard. According to the National Weather Service, the town of Orchard Park, south of Buffalo, had received about two feet of snow by Sunday morning (local time). At times, more than 15 centimeters of snow fell per hour in some places, the New York Times reported.

According to the first estimates, a new record could be set for the largest amount of snow in 24 hours. “Something like this has never happened,” Kathy Hochul said at a press conference called Saturday afternoon (local time).
