Currently, there is a significant increase in suspicion of dengue fever in the country. There were 236 reports in week 45 – the average number of dengue reports over the past three weeks was 224.
Ten new cases of dengue fever were observed in the department of Alto Paraguay: seven in the district of Carmelo Peralta and three cases in Fuerte Olimpo.

So far, two serotypes of dengue fever have been recorded:

  • DEN-1 is located in Itapa, Canindey, Boquern, Upper Paraguay and Concepcion
  • DAY-2 at Guair and Pdte.
  • Co-circulation of both serotypes in Asucin, Caaguaz, Central and Amambay

Chikungunya

Regarding Chikungunya, 18 new cases were reported:

17 Chikungunya cases from the Central Division: Limpio, Mariano Roque Alonso, Capiat and Fdo. de la Mora and one from Asuncion: the district of Loma Pyt.

A total of 1,839 dengue cases and 531 chikungunya cases have been reported so far in 2022.
